ACTIVITIES FOR THE OVER 50’S
At Anerley Town Hall
ARE YOU OVER 50? …. OR ANY ONE YOU KNOW? And TIRED OF WATCHING TV?
Did you know that there are opportunities to change your
life-style and meet new friends at Anerley Town Hall? Do you know anyone who would like to come along?
On Monday’s & Friday’s(smaller group on Friday’s) about 20 men and women like yourselves and some feeling their age, meet between 2pm and 5pm. We have the use of two separate rooms, the main hall with its stage area, and the smaller hall. The larger hall, big enough for plenty of chairs and tables, is used by most of us, some playing Cards and other Board Games and some just chatting. We have a 6 foot snooker table that we use it hardly measures up in size or condition to the professionals’ playing but it gives much pleasure to a few
experienced players among us and, as we usually play “doubles”, it regularly affords to beginners, male or
female, an excellent chance to try their hand at a game alongside them.
For the more energetic, and for those simply intent on staving off the pains of ageing, there are two full-size
Table-Tennis Tables in the smaller hall which is adequate even for doubles or a four up game which proves popular and ensures maximum use for us all.
Why not come along and join us? We always have a break with tea/coffee and biscuits. At Christmas time we arrange a modest party among ourselves, occasionally we have a restaurant meal out. The cost? That certainly should not keep you away. There is no membership fee, just drop in for £1.70 on
Mondays, £1.50 Fridays.
