Executive Summery August 2009



Crystal Palace Community Development Trust, a community based enterprise, was created by the Crystal Palace Community Forum and was launched in March
2004. The Trust was established as a registered charity No. 1107343 and Company No. 5090173.

The Trust has a board of trustees comprising local representatives and representatives of each council and a staff team of thirteen including both full and
sessional staff.

The vision of the Trust is:

To enable the communities of Crystal Palace and surrounding areas to play an active part in the regeneration of their neighbourhood.

Over the next five years the Trust will work towards its vision through the development of the following objectives:

Assets for the benefit of local businesses and communities

• Development of Anerley Business Centre
• Development of the Kingswood Estate Community Shop
• Promotion of the Trust asset development activities
Services and projects for young people, particularly those which operate across borough boundaries

• Employment of a dedicated youth worker to manage and develop youth activities
• Continuation and expansion of youth activities

Services which promote community cohesion and learning

• Development of a youth forum
• Work with young people to reduce gang crime
• Secure funding for learning activities
• Hold an occasional community fair


By achieving this:

• The expertise of the Trust is used to develop assets for local business and the community
• Service provision for young people is extended giving young people roots within their community
• A sense of community is retained and individuals within the community develop their skills
