Work with Young People

The Trust has identified a gap in service provision for young people and has provided a number of services for young people between the ages of 8 – 18 years including:

• A free youth club providing, football, badminton, pool, and table tennis and other activities
• An very successful art class with qualified tutors
• Trips and activities requested by the young people
• Participation in the Cross-borough ‘Breaking Down Barriers’ football tournament
• Knife intervention and Anti-gang workshop in association with Safety Box and the Crystal Palace Safer Neighbourhoods Team
• Homework clubs
• Youth Forum - As a result of our work with young people the Trust were approached by Lambeth to establish a cross-borough youth forum.
• Involvement in the Norwood “Young and Safe Expo”

Crystal Palace Youth Engagement Survey. Crystal Palace Community Development Trust (CPCDT) is looking into
the development of a cross borough ‘forum’ for young people.

The boroughs involved would be Bromley, Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham and Croydon.

We are asking young people to complete this questionnaire so we have an idea of whether young people from the different boroughs think this is a good idea.
We would also like interested young people to tell us what this ‘forum’ should look like and what it should try to do.

It could either be young people meeting on a regular basis and talking to the people who make local decisions or it could be a series of community events where young people meet together to take part in different activities – It is for you to decide and tell us what you want, please click on Youth Forum.
